Eligibility Criteria of APSC Recruitment

Nationality & Domicile: Candidates must be Indian citizens as defined in Articles 5 to 8 of the Constitution of India and must be permanent residents of Assam. As proof of domicile, candidates must upload a valid Permanent Resident Certificate or Employment Exchange Registration Certificate.

Educational Qualification: The educational qualification shall be a minimum of Class-VIII passed and a maximum of HSSLC (Class 12) or equivalent examination passed. As per Govt. Notification, candidates who possess educational qualifications higher than the maximum limit on the date of application shall not be eligible to apply. Candidates will have to submit a self-declaration as per ‘Annexure-I’ in this regard.

Age Limit: Candidates must be between 18 and 40 years of age as of 1st January 2025. However, the upper age limit is relaxable by 2 years for Ex-Servicemen, 3 years for OBC/MOBC candidates, 5 years for SC/ST candidates, and 10 years for Persons with Disability (PwD). 

Application Fee: The application fee is NIL as per Govt. Notification. However, a processing fee is applicable for all candidates.

Selection Process of APSC Grade IV Recruitment


The selection will be made consisting of two phases:

Phase-I (Screening Test): The Commission will conduct a screening test using OMR-based Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ) to shortlist candidates. The test will be for 100 marks with a duration of 2 hours. The standard of the questions will be of Class-VI, VII & VIII level. The syllabus is as follows:

Applicants are required to register on the website by providing a valid and active email address and mobile number. After registration, candidates can log in to fill out the online application form with the required personal and educational details.

Applicants must upload scanned copies of necessary documents/certificates in PDF format (not exceeding 5 MB), ensuring they are legible. A recent photograph (50 KB – 200 KB, not older than 3 months) and a signature (50 KB – 200 KB) must also be uploaded. Before final submission, candidates should use the preview option to verify all entered details and uploaded documents carefully, as no modifications are allowed after submission.

Finally, candidates must pay the prescribed processing fee online to complete the application process. Applications without fee payment will be rejected.
