The Reserve Bank of India Services Board (RBISB) has announced the direct recruitment for the posts of Officers in Grade ‘B’ (Direct Recruit-DR) for the panel year 2025. This recruitment drive aims to fill a total of 120 vacancies in the General, Department of Economic and Policy Research (DEPR), and Department of Statistics and Information Management (DSIM) cadres.

Through the official RBI website, qualified and interested applicants can apply for these esteemed positions. On September 10, 2025, the online application procedure will open, and applications must be submitted by September 30, 2025.

Pay Scale: Based on the pay scale of ₹78450-4050(9)-114900-EB-4050(2)-123000-4650(4)-141600 (16 years), chosen applicants would receive a beginning basic pay of ₹78,450 per month. According to regulations, they will also be qualified for Dearness Allowance, House Rent Allowance, Special Allowance, Local Compensatory Allowance, and Grade Allowance. The starting monthly gross earnings (without HRA) are currently around ₹1,50,374.

Age Requirement:
As on September 1, 2025, a candidate must be at least 21 years old and not older than 30. The applicant must have been born between September 2, 1995, and September 1, 2004.


Age Relaxation: For OBC/MOBC candidates, the upper age restriction is lowered by three years; for SC/ST candidates, it is lowered by five years; for ex-servicemen, it is lowered by five years; and for persons with disabilities (PwD), it is lowered by ten years.

Application charge: According to a government notification, there is no application charge. However, each candidate must pay a processing charge.

Educational Qualification (as on 1 September 2025)

For Officers in Grade ‘B’ (DR) – General: A minimum of 60% marks (50% for SC/ST/PwBD) in Graduation in any discipline or an equivalent technical/professional qualification. OR A minimum of 55% marks (Pass marks for SC/ST/PwBD) in Post-Graduation in any discipline or an equivalent technical/professional qualification.


For Officers in Grade ‘B’ (DR) – DEPR: A Master’s Degree in Economics / Quantitative Economics / Mathematical Economics / Applied Economics / Econometrics / Financial Economics / Business Economics / Agricultural Economics / Industrial Economics / Development Economics / International Economics with a minimum of 55% marks (50% for SC/ST/PwBD). OR A Master’s Degree in Finance / Quantitative Finance / Mathematical Finance / Quantitative Techniques / International Finance with a minimum of 55% marks (50% for SC/ST/PwBD).


For Officers in Grade ‘B’ (DR) – DSIM: A Master’s Degree in Statistics/ Mathematical Statistics/ Applied Statistics/ Quantitative Economics/ Econometrics/ Informatics or related branches with a minimum of 55% marks (50% for SC/ST/PwBD). OR A Master’s Degree in Data Science/ Artificial Intelligence/ Machine Learning/ Big Data Analytics with a minimum of 55% marks (50% for SC/ST/PwBD). OR A four-year Bachelor’s Degree in the above subjects with a minimum of 60% marks (50% for SC/ST/PwBD).


RBI Selection Process

The selection will be done through Online/Written examinations in Phase-I and Phase-II, followed by an Interview.


Phase-I Examination

For Grade ‘B’ (DR)-General: An objective type test of 200 marks, held on 18 October 2025. Subjects include General Awareness, English Language, Quantitative Aptitude, and Reasoning.


For Grade ‘B’ (DR)-DEPR/DSIM: An objective type test on Economics/Statistics, held on 19 October 2025.


Phase-II Examination

For Grade ‘B’ (DR)-General: To be held on 6 December 2025, consisting of three papers (Economic and Social Issues, English-Writing Skills, and General Finance and Management).


For Grade ‘B’ (DR)-DEPR/DSIM: To be held on 7 December 2025, consisting of descriptive papers on Economics/Statistics and English.


Interview: Candidates shortlisted after Phase-II will be called for an interview, which will carry 75 marks.

How to Apply for RBI Grade B Recruitment?

Interested candidates who meet the eligibility criteria can submit their applications online through the official Reserve Bank of India website. The application must be submitted through the designated portal at www.rbi.org.in. No other mode of application will be accepted.


Candidates must first register by providing their basic details to generate a provisional registration number and password. After registration, they should proceed to fill out the online application form with accurate details. Applicants are required to upload scanned copies of their photograph, signature, left thumb impression, and a handwritten declaration as per the specified format. The application process is incomplete without the payment of the prescribed application fee through the online payment gateway.
