Educational Qualification
Staff Nurse: Registration under the Assam Nurses, Midwives, and Health Visitors' Council and completion of a B.Sc. or GNM program from any nursing school or organization accredited by the Indian Nursing Council.
To put it briefly, you are eligible to apply if you have a GNM or B.Sc. in nursing from an Indian Nursing Council-recognized institution and your name is already on file with the state council. Candidates who have finished the course but have not yet enrolled should do so before applying, as it is a stated requirement of the advertisement rather than an optional credential.

The Assamese Tea Tribes and the Adivasi community are granted reservations under the OBC category. According to government regulations, horizontal reservations for women, ex-servicemen, and people with disabilities (PWD) would be implemented. These seats are taken out of the aforementioned groups rather than added to them.

The upper age limit is 40 years as of 1 January 2026. Relaxation in the maximum age is 5 years for SC and ST candidates, 3 years for OBC and MOBC candidates, and 10 years for PWD candidates, which gives the following category-wise limits.

Morigaon, Nagaon, and Hojai in Central Assam
Bajali, Baksa, Barpeta, Bongaigaon, Chirang, Dhubri, Goalpara, Nalbari, Kamrup (M), Kamrup, Kokrajhar, South Salmara, and Tamulpur comprise Lower Assam.
Biswanath, Darrang, Sonitpur, and Udalguri are in North Assam.
Charaideo, Dhemaji, Dibrugarh, Golaghat, Jorhat, Lakhimpur, Majuli, Sivasagar, and Tinsukia comprise Upper Assam.

This advertising does not disclose the selecting procedure. In due time, NHM, Assam, will post the list of candidates who have been provisionally shortlisted on the Directorate of National Health Mission, Assam's official website.
